### Russian Tourist Demand Drops 4.8% in Summer 2026 Season
Demand for domestic travel in Russia fell by 4.8% in the summer season of 2026 compared to the previous year, according to data cited by TASS from the President of the Russian Tourism Industry Union (RTIU), Ilya Umansky.
Umansky described the decline as a natural correction following several years of "rather robust growth." Last year, at the same time, domestic tourism had shown a year-on-year increase of 9.8%, and in 2024, it grew by 15%. He noted that the market had reached its saturation point, and additionally, a strong ruble was making foreign travel options more appealing.
