Rostec Announces First Flight of the New Ka-226T Helicopter
Rostec has reported the successful first flight of the Ka-226T helicopter, which was conducted as part of flight tests. The helicopter, now equipped with a new domestic VK-650V engine, demonstrated its capabilities by performing taxiing, hovering, and various maneuvers.
According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, Gennady Abramenkov, the modular design and domestic engine have made the helicopter versatile, agile, and safe. The coaxial system ensures stability and ease of operation. In addition to the new engine, the helicopter features upgraded avionics and control systems, as well as a modernized onboard cable network and other components made in Russia.
"A fully domestically produced helicopter ensures technological independence and opens up new opportunities for medical, rescue, and patrol aviation," Abramenkov emphasized.
