Russia, India Discuss Visa-Free Travel for Tour Groups

Russia and India are discussing the possibility of introducing a visa-free regime for tourist groups ranging from 3 to 50 people between the two countries, according to the Ministry of Economic Development, as reported by Interfax.

The ministry has indicated that a relevant proposal has been submitted to Indian partners, proposing a visa-free regime for stays not exceeding 21 days.

Currently, Russian tourists can avail themselves of a free electronic visa to India, which can be obtained online. The permitted stay in the country is up to 30 days with two entries allowed.

According to the Russian Trade Representation in India, the tourist flow between the two countries in 2025 amounted to 143,000 trips, which is 15% higher compared to the level of 2024. India was visited by 85,600 Russian tourists, while the inbound flow from India to Russia reached 57,600 trips.
