Sri Lanka Sends First Groups of Labor Migrants to Russia

Sri Lanka has dispatched the first groups of labor migrants to Russia, according to the Russian news agency TASS citing Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Levan Dzhagaryan.

However, Dzhagaryan cautioned that it is premature to expect a significant influx of workers.

"Given the current situation and existing organizational challenges, there are no grounds to expect a significant influx of labor from Sri Lanka in the near future," he noted.

Additionally, the ambassador reported that initial complaints from Sri Lankan workers regarding unpaid wages by Russian employers have already been recorded.
