### Russian Market for Wireless Access Equipment Hits Record Sales in 2025 In 2025, the Russian market for wireless access equipment saw unprecedented growth, according to the newspaper [Izvestia](https://iz.ru/2048061/valerii-kodachigov/zona-podstupa-v-rf-postavlen-rekord-po-prodazham-wifi-routerov). By the end of the year, approximately 10 million Wi-Fi routers, repeaters, and other devices for home network setup were sold in Russia, marking the highest sales figure in at least five years. Market participants reported that compared to 2024, demand increased by 30-60% depending on the segment and sales channel. In monetary terms, the market exceeded 2020 levels by more than double, while in volume, it effectively doubled. Large retailers noted particularly strong growth in online sales channels. Sales of stationary routers on marketplaces grew by dozens of percent. Among the key factors driving this trend, experts pointed to instability in mobile internet in certain regions. As restrictions grew, users began switching to fixed connections to ensure reliable internet access. Residents of regional areas, owners of private homes, and small businesses—from retail stores to taxi services—were especially active buyers, seeking stable operation of cash registers and IT systems. Another major driver was the technological shift to new communication standards. Older devices, primarily operating in the 2.4 GHz range, increasingly struggled to handle the load in apartment buildings, where the airwaves are crowded with neighboring networks and numerous wireless gadgets. As a result, consumers increasingly opted for dual-band models supporting 5 GHz and the modern Wi-Fi 6 standard. The spread of "smart home" systems also contributed to market growth. While just a few years ago Wi-Fi connected only a handful of devices, today it connects dozens—from televisions and laptops to security cameras, sensors, and voice assistants. For stable operation of the entire ecosystem, users require more powerful routers, and in large apartments and cottages, additional access points and repeaters. Telecom operators also noted increased demand from businesses for public Wi-Fi networks. Corporate connections saw significant growth over the year, with companies scaling up solutions capable of serving not hundreds, but thousands of simultaneous users.
