Since the beginning of 2025, Russia and Tanzania have increased their mutual trade turnover by 20%. This was stated by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov following a meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Tanzanian commission on trade and economic cooperation.
According to Reshetnikov, Russian exports to Tanzania have increased by a quarter since the beginning of the year, mainly due to supplies of wheat, meslin and fertilizers. Tanzania traditionally supplies tobacco raw materials, coffee, tea and fruits to Russia.
The main purpose of the meeting was the diversification of mutual trade. The parties discussed the expansion of trade and interregional cooperation, as well as the development of joint investment projects in agriculture, energy, healthcare, tourism, information and communication technologies, science and education.
