The United States has not imposed tariff restrictions on Russia because economic ties between the two countries are minimal. This was stated by Dmitry Kiku, Deputy Director of the Department of Control over External Restrictions of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, speaking at a discussion at the Valdai International Club on Monday.

According to him, the trade turnover between Russia and the United States fell to $3.5 billion, which was the lowest since 1992. Thus, according to Kiku, tariff restrictions against Russia were not introduced due to the low level of bilateral relations.
