On April 6, the main stock markets of the Middle East countries showed their maximum decline for the first time in 5 years. Western media cite the risks of a new trade war and lower oil prices as the reasons for the drop in the indices.

The Saudi Arabian stock market declined by 6.8%. The Qatar and Kuwait stock exchanges lost more than 5.5%. The Israeli market fell the most since October 2023, to 3.93%. On April 4, all four stock exchanges were closed.
