In 2024, the Russian Interior Ministry made more than 190,000 decisions on the administrative expulsion, deportation and readmission of foreign citizens. Compared to the previous period, this figure has increased by almost a third, said the official representative of the department Irina Volk.
Over the past year, more than 157,000 foreigners who were convicted of violating Russian law forcibly left Russia (+45% year-on-year).
The agency also issued 267.2 thousand representations on non-admission to Russia, which is more than a third higher than the level of 2023. The number of temporary residence permits issued has halved, and the number of residence permits has decreased by almost a quarter.
