Experts evaluated the first shots of the outstanding S-350 air defense system

The first personnel for the entire period of its deployment, combat duty and use as part of the network-centric anti-aircraft missile brigade of the S-350 air defense system division.

Detection of aerodynamic and ballistic targets can be carried out both by means of the 96L6-CPU all-round radar, and by means of third-party VVO 96L6 radar, or the radar of the medium-altitude/low-altitude S-band detector 48Y6-K1 «Approach-K1». Then the target designation is issued to the illumination radar / CU 50N6A, after which the targets are captured for precise auto-tracking, and then the target is distributed between the 9M96DM anti-aircraft missiles and the CU is issued to their active radar GOS of the line «Slate».

In addition to equipping these missiles with gas-dynamic "belts" of transverse control engines (providing interception of targets with overloads of up to 30 units), the S-350 complexes have another unique feature that strikingly distinguishes them from other SAMs.

In particular, this is an optional equipment of divisional sets with passive electronic reconnaissance complexes and TSU 96L6-VP (remote control post).

These complexes have passive interferometric headlights integrated into an antenna post raised to a height of 17 m.

Military experts of the telegram channel «Russian weapons» in detail analyzed the advantages of the complex. According to the calculation, 227 mm GMLRS guided missiles with an effective reflective surface of 0.07 sq. m. m is detected at a distance of 90 km and captured for accurate auto tracking at a distance of 75 km.

 The integration of 4-5 S-350 batteries into the mixed anti-aircraft missile brigade deployed in Crimea is able to minimize massive ATACMS missile strikes on strategically important sites in Yevpatoria, Sevastopol and Kerch.
