Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 348 Ukrainian drones in a large-scale attack overnight, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. From 8:00 PM on May 22 to 7:00 AM on May 23, the drones were shot down over various regions of Russia.
The drones were intercepted over the territories of Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Orel, Rostov, Ryazan, and Tula regions, as well as Krasnodar Krai, the Republic of Crimea (a disputed territory annexed by Russia in 2014), and the Republic of Tatarstan.
Additionally, air defense systems were active in the Moscow region and over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.
Emergency and operational services are working at the sites where the drones crashed.
