Reducing the inspection time for cargo trucks at border crossings to the target of 10 minutes will bring the Russian economy about 100 billion rubles. This estimate was provided by Konstantin Pashkov, the First Deputy Minister of Transport.

The figure of 100 billion rubles is the first public economic justification for the initiative, which was previously announced at the highest level.

"Our task is 10 minutes, colleagues. What does 10 minutes mean? We calculated - it is approximately 100 billion rubles in savings," Pashkov stated at the Congress of Young Scientists.

Currently, the average time for a cargo truck to pass through the Russian border is 38 minutes. The instruction to reduce inspection time was given by President Vladimir Putin. The head of state demanded that the government and the FSB jointly develop solutions to achieve this indicator.

Reducing downtime leads to an increase in the capacity of key routes, a decrease in business logistics costs, and an increase in the predictability and speed of deliveries. It is expected that to achieve the target indicator, a comprehensive optimization of procedures will be carried out, including digitalization of document flow and introduction of new inspection technologies.
