The Federal Treasury is closely monitoring pricing in the state defense procurement sector, focusing on preventive identification of risks of overpricing. New mechanisms, including an automated monitoring system, have already demonstrated their effectiveness, saving significant budgetary funds. This was reported by the head of the Russian Treasury, Roman Artyukhin, during a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The main change has been the transition from subsequent control to preventive analysis. The Treasury now carefully checks financial and economic justifications at the stage of requesting budget allocations by defense industry enterprises.
"The emphasis is on preventive control, which allows us to see the risks of overpricing before they occur," Artyukhin said, noting that this approach has prevented unjustified expenditures amounting to about 200 billion rubles.
To enhance control, a special automated price monitoring system in the state defense procurement sector has been launched. This tool helps identify potential cases of overpricing in real-time.
In addition, joint work with defense enterprises has already yielded results: thanks to optimization and cost reduction, the need for several additional contracts has been reduced. Some unearned advances have been returned to the federal budget.
Pricing issues in state defense procurement are under special control. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed the head of the Federal Treasury, Roman Artyukhin, to personally oversee this area. An important task set by the prime minister is to ensure timely execution of all contracts within the established deadlines.
