Russia and Kyrgyzstan have almost completely switched to settlements in national currencies – the share of ruble and som in mutual payments has reached a record 97%. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during negotiations with the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov. "Already about 97% of all payments are made in national currencies," noted the Russian leader. Putin pointed out that the process of direct mutual settlements between Russia and Kyrgyzstan is constantly improving. "We are working on new options for organizing mutual settlements," added the President of Russia, without specifying details. According to experts, this may involve the creation of more integrated financial platforms or mechanisms that simplify calculations for businesses. Another key outcome of strengthening partnership was a significant influx of Russian investments into the Kyrgyz economy, which, according to Vladimir Putin, have already reached almost $2 billion. This amount of investment highlights the growing economic ties between the two countries against the backdrop of the formation of new logistics and trade chains within the EAEU.
