The Moscow Arbitration Court declared former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov bankrupt, who is already serving a sentence for large-scale thefts. Promsvyazbank filed a lawsuit against him, demanding to recover 228 million rubles, of which 175 million rubles is the principal debt on the loan.

Ivanov acknowledged the debt and asked the court to immediately proceed to the sale of his property, bypassing the restructuring stage. Such an accelerated procedure is allowed for persons convicted of economic crimes.

Bankruptcy became another legal consequence for the former official. Earlier, the Moscow City Court sentenced him to 13 years in prison and a fine of 100 million rubles in a case of thefts. The total amount of recoveries in criminal cases exceeds 4 billion rubles.

Currently, another criminal case is being investigated against Ivanov regarding the receipt of bribes amounting to 1.3 billion rubles, in which he does not admit his guilt.
