Izhevsk Airport Named After Kalashnikov

The International Airport of Izhevsk (the capital of Udmurtia) will now bear the name of the Russian weapons designer Mikhail Kalashnikov. The corresponding decree assigning the name to the airport was signed by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. The document has been published on the portal of legal acts.

"To assign the name of M.T. Kalashnikov to the International Airport of Izhevsk," states the decree.

The directive comes into force on the day of signing the document.
