The former General Motors plant in St. Petersburg, which ceased operations 10 years ago, will start full-cycle car production in 2026. This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in an interview with RIA Novosti.
«We have restructured the work of the former General Motors plant in St. Petersburg – it was abandoned back in 2015, and we have completely refurbished this site from scratch. Starting next year, full-cycle car production will also be launched there,» Manturov said.
He added that negotiations with investors regarding sites in Shushary and Nizhny Novgorod are currently being finalized.
