Since the beginning of the year, energy consumption in Russia has decreased by 0.9%

Since the beginning of 2025, Russia has seen a 0.9% decrease in energy consumption. As the head of the System Operator company, Fedor Opadchy, noted in an interview with TASS at the Eastern Economic Forum, such dynamics are associated with favorable weather conditions in warm winters and mild summers.

At the same time, the situation in the Far East shows the opposite trend: the region recorded a 4.3% increase in energy consumption. This is due to the rapid development of the region.

According to experts, by the end of 2025, energy consumption in Russia as a whole may remain at the level of 2024. At the same time, more significant growth is expected in the Far East - about 4.5% by the end of the year.
